Mercury Recoil Reduction Weight Kit | SHOT Show 2019

Today, one week before the show, we are showcasing our all-new Mercury Recoil Reduction Weight Kit. This tube will fit inside all XLR buffer tubes.

The new trend in competition rifles has been to add weight. Not only does this tube add a whopping 24 ounces of weight (18.5 ounces if using the short tube) but also takes it a step further with the recoil suppression dynamic of a mercury dampening system.

All recoil reduction systems use the inertia principle of moving a mass of weight within the gun to slow down and offset part of the apparent recoil. Most devices sold contain two springs and a lead or steel weight. Some claim to have hydraulic action but are just spring-weight units filled with oil.

The Mercury Recoil Suppressor works on a different principle. The moveable weight is liquid mercury, free to react instantly when the gun is fired. Practical size limits spring-weight systems to using small moveable weights. The use of mercury allows us to increase the weight within the Mercury Recoil Suppressor while keeping overall size and weight within reasonable limits.
